Collector Export Yaqoob Mako seeks list of exporters to pay rebate claims

KARACHI: Collector of Customs Collectorate-Export Muhammad Yaqoob Mako has planned to pay rebate claims for the year 2015-16, it is learnt here.

Sources informed Customs Today that the collector Export, in a recently held meeting, asked the officers of the Collectorate to compile a detailed list of the exporters whose rebate claims are pending.

The officers briefed the collector that a list of the exporters had been prepared and it needed to be reviewed. They said that several exporters have submitted the rebate claims for the year 2015-16 during the last week.

The Collector Export asked to include the names and companies of the exporters after thorough scrutiny of their documents, which they have submitted along with the officials of the Collectorate.

The sources further informed this scribe that the Collector Muhammad Yaqoob Mako has asked the officers of the Collectorate to submit a final report in this regard by the end of this month so that the rebate claims could be issued by the start of next month.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar during the budget speech directed the FBR authorities to issue the rebate claims by the end of August-2016.

After that Collectorate of Customs Exports started to finalise the list of those exporters whose rebate claims were to be issued.
