Multan Customs FIU impounds crane from Sadiqabad region

MULTAN: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range Office has impounded a foreign origin crane due to import policy violation from Sadiqabad region.

According to details, the Customs Intelligence received information that non-customs paid construction machinery will be shifted from Sadiqabad. The Customs Intelligence and Investigation formed a special team led by Superintendent Zahid Raza to monitor the smugglers. The Field Intelligence Unit of Customs Sadiqabad started checking the vehicles and goods to prevent smuggling from the route.

The Customs Intelligence and Investigation also started searching of smuggled goods in the surrounding areas of Sadiqabad check post.

A team of Customs Field Intelligence Unit Sadiqabad has spotted the suspected crane parked near a fuel station in their patrolling and the Customs team asked the crane driver Amanat Ali resident of Lahore to produce legal documents for its identity. The Customs staff detained the Hino crane having registration number JS-4579 with chassis no.JHDFC3JELXXX1043 and engine no .WO6ED2575.

The crane driver told Customs field Intelligence staff that they provide Crane services on the rent to builders on their demand for construction work.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range found that Crane was imported against the import policy of Customs and Customs Intelligence unit Sadiqabad decided to seized the due to violation of import policy.The model of the foreign origin seized Hino Crane is 1994.The worth of the seized crane by Customs Intelligence is almost Rs.4 million and duty taxes of Rs.2 million. Further Investigations were still under progress.
