Gilgit-Baltistan Customs collects Rs 207.8m in 15 days

ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) collected Rs 207.869 million under the head of duty/taxes during first fifteen days of November 2016.

Assistant Collector Akbar Jan said that with the guidance of Customs North Chief Collector Sarwat Tahira Habib and Gilgit-Baltistan Customs Collector Ali Raza the performance of the department remained satisfactory in wake of revenue collection.

Akbar Jan added that the customs collected Rs 86.541 million as customs duty during the said period, while the same stood at Rs 164.693 million during same period of last year 2015.

He also said that the Gilgit-Baltistan Customs collected Rs 372.098 million during first 15 days of November 2015, while it generated Rs 207.869 million in wake of duty/taxes in running month.

During November 1 to 14 2016, the import value of the collectorate stood at Rs 551.702 million against Rs 1.209 million import value of last year.
