MULTAN: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range Office has seized foreign oigin sulphuric acid during an action.
According to details, Customs Field Intelligence Unit (FIU) of Sadiqabad has received credible information from their source that foreign origin chemicals will be transported through their way. Superintendent Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range Office has formed special team led by Senior Intelligence Officer Chaudhary Muhammad Muneer, Inspector Muhammad Umer and others for crackdown against alleged chemical consignment loaded on the container.
Field Intelligence Unit of Sadiqabad region intercepted the loaded container near Kot Sabzal check post for examination. During the examination of the loaded container, Customs Field Intelligence Unit of Sadiqabad found the loaded container with sulphuric acid a. The chemical were filled in 110 various plastic drums and all drums were filled almost 210 kilograms each. The net weight of the sulphuric acid was almost 23100 kilogram in the course of their examination.
Customs Field Intelligence Unit of Sadiqabad has asked container driver Haji Muhammad Umer resident of Karachi to produce import documents of loaded chemicals in container for its legal possession.
The owner of imported chemical consignment was failed to provide required documents needed for the import of said chemicals which were consumed in the industrial manufacturing of goods. The Field Intelligence Unit of Sadiqabad has found discrepancies in the loaded chemicals and their presented imported documents.
Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized the consignment of sulphuric acid worth Rs.6 million and their duty taxes of Rs.2 million under Customs Act 1969 in their action.
