Peshawar AFU collects revenue of Rs47.42m from July 2016 to November 22

ISLAMABAD: Customs Collectorate Air Freight Unit (AFU) collected Rs47.42 million from 1st July to 22nd November 2016-17.

Sources told Customs Today that Air Freight Unit of Bacha Khan Air port showed outstanding performance and take every possible measure to generate revenue.

Sources said that AFU collected total customs duty under value of Rs.16.04 million from July to 22nd November 2016-17 while AFU collected miscellaneous taxes amounting to Rs.1.18 million and collected regulatory duty on imports amounting to Rs.1.18 million and AFU collected regulatory duty on exports amounting to Rs.0.81 million. Air Freight Unit collected Rs 14.06 million separately under the head of customs duty.

Sources said that from July to 22nd November BKAP collected  Rs16.4 million under the  head of total sales tax while it collected Rs1.65 million under the head of sales tax on imports.

Sources said that during the above said period the BKAP collected total additional income tax (AIT) amounting to Rs.13.68 million.

Sources said that construction work at BKAP is continued from last two to three years and it is a big hurdle for the business community to freely work through this air port. Businessmen urged the government to take measures to complete this construction work as soon as possible so the business activity can enhance and customs department can get generate more revenue through this airport.

Sources said that government have provided no public transport route for manual labor  to reach at air port except personal transport, authorities must provide public transport routes for general public to reach at Airport, non possibility of public transport to reach at airport is also a hurdle for business community the sources said.
