Multan AFU collects Rs701.60m of customs duty during first four month of Fy2016-17

MULTAN: Air Freight Unit (AFU) of Model Customs Collectorate, Multan has collected Rs701.602 million through exported various consignment during the first four months of current fiscal year 2016-17.

The Air Freight Unit is playing significant role in the export of various commodities after the establishment of Multan International Airport. The exporters of the South Punjab have shown interest in exporting their goods from Multan AFU and export have been increased in the recent few months.

The Model of Customs Collectorate has exported 583 various consignments of Rs549.64 million through Air Freight Unit during the previous economic year 2015-16.

The exporters has filed 773 various export GD,s of Rs701.602 million at the AFU Customs during the period of first four months (July to October) of fiscal year 2016-17.

Exporters have exported 178 various goods consignments worth of Rs196.567 million during the month of October from Multan Air Freight Unit of Customs. The export of various goods from exporters will be increased with the passage of time due to best available export facilities at the newly built Multan International Airport.

The AFU has handled with 324 export consignments of Mango worth Rs240.27 million during August of the fiscal year 2016-17 and sent into the various countries of the world. The department has provided maximum facilities to Mango exporters for their export at AFU and after that exporters have been attracted towards Multan AFU.

Multan International Airport has only 24 international flights before the establishment newly Airport and after its establishment it has been increased to 86 international flights.
