Gwadar Customs seizes 18,000 litre Iranian oil

KARACHI: Gwadar Customs Collectorate has seized 18,000 litre Iranian oil during a successful raid in the area of Jiwani while three persons were arrested.

Official told Customs Today that Collector Saeed Akram received information that some elements were planning to smuggle Iranian diesel form out of the city. On this, he informed the anti-smuggling team and instructed them to curb smuggling. The team formed checkposts at main entry and exit points in the Jiwani area and started the checking vehicles.

During the checking of vehicles the team intercepted an oil tanker. While the search of the tanker the team found 18000 litre Iranian oil. The team asked the driver to produce legal documents of the oil but he failed to produce the same.

The team seized the oil and detained three persons include driver. Customs official said that the value of seized oil is more than Rs1.1 million in international market.
