COLOMBO: The Sri Lankan government has planned to establish a Joint Operation Center to prevent the drug trafficking in Sri Lanka, said the Minister of Law, Order, and Southern Development Sagala Ratnayake.
Responding to a question for oral answers by UNP MP Buddhika Pathirana today in Parliament, the Minister said steps have been taken to strengthen the prevention of drug trafficking through sea, air, and other alternative accesses.
According to the Minister, the operation center will comprise officials from the Sri Lanka Police, Sri Lanka Customs, Port Authority, Navy, Excise Department, and the Coastal Conservation Department.
