Customs Preventive collects Rs 11,754m duties/taxes in November 2016

KARACHI: The Collectorate of Customs (Preventive) collected Rs 11,754 million under the head of customs duty, sales tax, income tax and the federal excise duty during the month of November 2016.

The official sources told Customs Today that Customs Preventive collected Rs 11,754 million during the whole month of November 2016 that included Rs 3,286.84 million customs duty, Rs 7,406.72 million sales tax, Rs 1022.83 million income tax and Rs 38.60 million the federal excise duty (FED).

Significantly, the Customs Preventive collected Rs 486.47 million as customs duty and Rs 1251.33 million as sales tax on the last working day i.e. November 30, 2016.

At all, the Preventive Collectorate has collected some Rs 54075.47 million since July 1, 2016 till November 30, 2016 that included Rs 14717.80 million as customs duty, Rs 33278 million as sales tax, Rs 4892.12 million as income tax and Rs 2206 million as the federal excise duty (FED).

Sources said that the newly posted Collector Preventive Dr Saifuddin Junejo lauded the performance of the officials of the collectorate in attaining the revenue targets and hoped that the officials would put up extra efforts to achieve more than the set targets.
