PRV of Appraisement West detects anomalies worth Rs10.5m in clearance of chemical consignments

KARACHI: The Post Release Verification (PRV) Department of Customs Collectorate of Appraisement West has detected some anomalies in clearance of chemical consignments during the month of November-2016.

The sources informed Customs Today that the PRV Department during the scrutiny of post release consignments during the month of November has detected anomalies of Rs10.5 million in clearance of chemical consignments.

The sources further said that the importer M/s Shamsi Enterprises cleared five consignments of different chemicals from Karachi International Containers’ Terminal (KICT) during previous month in which the importer was attempted to clear three of those consignments with wrong PCT Heading having less valuation. However, the PRV during the scrutiny of data have detected the anomalies of that importer.

Replying to a query, the sources said that PRV have prepared a case against M/s Shamsi Enterprises in connection with using wrong PCT Heading during clearance of the consignments.
