Customs Intelligence seizes huge quantity of smuggled items in November

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized various contraband items including non-duty paid vehicles and others smuggling items worth Rs 22,435,842 involving duty and taxes amounting to Rs 9654114 during November 2016. The Customs Intelligence authorities also impounded non duty paid vehicles Rs 4,000,000 under Customs Act 1969.

Following the instructions of Deputy Director Muhammad Riaz Hussain, teams of Customs Intelligence, including the Field Investigation Unit (FIU) Khushab, and Faisalabad took stern action against smugglers who were causing loss to the national kitty and registered 10 smuggled case during the said period.

The Customs Intelligence Faisalabad has seized smuggled black tea (106 bags) worth Rs 2,200,000  foreign origin ladies suiting cloth printed (195 rolls) Rs, 5,80,000 old and used generator s( 4 numbers , Rs, 735,000 Pan Parag, Indian gutkha Rs 2,350,000 foreign origin ceramic tiles ( 11 cartons), Rs 7,90,000 used computer systems and others items Rs, 6,247,207 Iranian origin glasses (19348 kilograms), make up kits eyes shadows (728 cartons)  Rs, 2,598,635.

On the other hand, officials said that the Customs Field Investigation Unit (FIU) Khushab confiscated smuggled almond without shell (127 bags) Rs 3,000,000 which were recovered from Moosa Khan resident Lora Lai. Total value of the seized items is Rs 2,350,000.

Customs Intelligence teams comprising Senior Intelligence Officer Muhammad Tahir Iqbal, Muhammad Saleem, Muhammad Saeed Khan and others participated in the raids.

Raids were conducted by Customs Intelligence teams at different areas including Sheikhpura Road, Motorways, Smundri Roads, Jhang Road and also Sargodha Road.
