Sialkot Customs Preventive seizes 500 gram heroin at Sialkot International Airport

SIALKOT: Customs Preventive staff of Model Customs Collectorate, Sialkot posted at Sialkot International Airport recovered 500 grams heroin from a passenger who was going to Jeddah.

Customs official told Customs Today that a resident of Multan city namely Muhammad Zubair son of Muhammad Iqbal was going to Jeddah from the said airport on Wednesday evening by a flight of private airline.

During the checking process the passenger was entering in the compound of airport where the Customs Preventive staff intercepted him and searched his body and luggage. During the checking of the luggage the staff recovered 500 grams heroin from his shoes.

The staff seized heroin and nabbed him whereas the staff also handed over the accused to Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) for further interrogation whereas the ANF detained him with help of airport security forces in the judicial lock-up of Police Station Airport.

During the investigation Zubair committed that he smuggled heroin and other narcotics earlier from other airports but he used Sialkot Airport for first time.

However the police have registered a case against accused under customs law while the accused will be produced before the area Magistrate on Thursday (today) for remand.
