Customs Intelligence lodges FIR against polyester fabrics smugglers

FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Customs Intelligence and Investigation has lodged an FIR against three suspects namely Muhammad Nasir Dourani, Muhammad Kamil, and Muhammad Razaq proprietor of M/s N.N International Lahore who are involved in smuggling of Chinese origin polyester grey textile fabric. The market value of textile fabrics is worth Rs 55,62813 involving customs duty and taxes Rs 4,00,00,000.

According to details, the intelligence team intercepted a trailer bearing registration no. TLH-277 loaded with container no. CAXU-9934075 near Toll Plaza Jaranwala Road Faisalabad and seizes trailer and polyester grey textile fabric under Customs Act 1969.

During inquiry it was revealed that container was shipped from Chinese port Guangzhou to Karachi port through Vessel “Batam Trader” whereas the print out of display vessel Voyage as provided by the APL Faisalabad office reflects that the journey route of vessel Batman Trader is from Jabel Ali to Karachi and not Guangzhau to Karachi.

The custom team asked the accused persons to show legal documents and invoices of import item but they remained failed to show any relevant documents. After their failure Customs Intelligence team seized the polyester textile fabrics and lodged an FIR against nominated accused person under section U/S 2(s) 16,32, 32A, 157(2), 178 of the Customs Act 1969.
