ISLAMABAD: The Federal Service Tribunal adjourned the hearing of over a dozen cases filed against the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) during third week of December.
The FST benches comprising Justice (r) Syed Zahid Hussain and Syed M Hamid, Syed Rafique Hussain and Syed M Hamid, Ishtiaq Ahemd and Dr Nazir Saeed heard the cases.
Justice (r) Syed Zahid Hussain and Syed M Hamid heard the cases filed by Akbar Ali Shad and Qaiser Khan. The bench adjourned the hearing of these cases. The appellants had filed these complaints against the FBR administration. These appellants had also filed submissions about ‘implementation’ and had prayed the tribunal to direct the board on fulfilling tribunal’s former orders regarding their submissions.
They had complained about board’s lethargy and submitted that the board administration had not taken bench’s order serious and did not complied the orders. They asked the tribunal to bring justice to them by ensuring implementation over the tribunal’s orders.
It is pertinent to mention that a large number of complaints is pending with the tribunal carrying similar substance. Almost all the appellants had asked the tribunal to take strict notice of board’s weariness about the employee affairs.
The later bench heard another case filed by Yousaf Khan, Ghulam Hasnain, Ali Shah, Ghulam Jamil, Nisar Ahmed Bangash and others.
Nisar had filed a complaint about promotion. He had recently filed the petition. The department had yet not filed any objections over the matter. Hearing on this case was also adjourned for next week.
A division bench of the FST comprising Members, Ishtiaq Ahemd and Dr Nazir Saeed heard Muhammad Ushaq’s case carrying a ‘seniority’ matter while Wilayat Ali Shah submitted plea on ‘promotion, Tariq Masood’s case who had filed a case on ‘Reduction to lower stages’.
Wilayat Ali Shah had submitted a complaint regarding his promotion at FBR which he said had not been granted to him since serving the department for years.
Meanwhile, tribunal’s another bench also adjourned hearing on some other cases. Irshad Ghafoor, Muhammad Chanzeb, Ashraf Noor and Syed Asifullah had filed these cases. The appellant had complained about promotion issues through the submissions.
