FCCI demands extension in date of filing IT returns till Jan 15

FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) President Engineer Muhammad Saeed Sheikh has demanded extension in the date of filing income tax returns up to January 15, 2017.

In a statement issued here, he said that it was impossible for the tax payers to file their returns for the year 2016 positively on December 31, 2016. “Taxpayers have to collect required details along with relevant documents which cannot be made available on December 31, 2016,” he added.

He said that every taxpayer needed some extra time to collect its income tax related documents up to December 31, 2016.He said that in hurriedness there were chances of making wrong entries, hence, the FBR should extend the date for filing income tax returns up to January 15, 2017. He said that it would facilitate the taxpayers to file their returns with complete peace of mind.
