Sialkot Customs achieves 92% target of Nov, Dec

SIALKOT: The Model Custom’s Collectorate Sialkot achieved 92 percent revenue target during the months of November and December 2016.

Collector Ahmed Reza Khan told Customs Today that the Sialkot will definitely achieve the remaining target before the end of the current fiscal year 2016-17. Meanwhile, the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) lodged 14 cases of smuggling during the months of November and December 2016.

He said that during the above mentioned period, the ASO foiled many smuggling bids. As per details, the total value of seized items during the month of November and December is Rs37 million while the C.I.F. value of imported items is Rs5.13 million. Official said that the collcetorate has already adopted strict measures to curb the smuggling.

Sialkot ASO has seized contraband goods under value of Rs14.998, involving duty/taxes of Rs7.397 million while market value of those items is Rs29.865 million. Ahmed Reza said that the performance of ASO is much better to curb smuggling from the Sialkot Region.

He told that the other wings of Sialkot are also showing best performance to achieve target.

He told that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is 100 percent satisfied by the performance of Sialkot Customs staff while it has got good name in the list of all Model Customs Collectorates. Whereas the process of export and import is much better as compare to previous fiscal years.
