1.5m vehicles ticketed for traffic rules violation in Peshawar

ISLAMABAD: Traffic wardens fined 1.5 million vehicles for violation of traffic rules in Peshawar during 2016.

Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Traffic Sadiq Baloch said Rs 260 million were deposited to national exchequer on account of traffic challans, a private news channel reported on Tuesday. As many as 76,000 people were issued driving licenses while Rs 50 million were collected from them as license fee, he added. According to an annual report of traffic police, 2700 people were booked during operations against temporary encroachments.
