Peshawar Customs collects revenue Rs 1574.51m during December 2016

PESHAWAR: Modal Customs Collectorate (MCC) Peshawar successfully achieved its monthly target by collecting Rs 1574.51 million against the assigned target of Rs 1511.31 million.

According to details, under head of customs duties MCC collected Rs 596.8 million in month of December 2016 while the total collection of the same period in previous year was 634.09 million. In head of sales tax on import MCC collected Rs 381.13 million as compare to Rs 389.21 million in the same period of previous year.

Sources told that under head of sales tax levied as Federal Excise Duty on Palm oil customs collected Rs 164.14 million whereas the collection of same period in previous year was Rs 168.88 million. Adding that in head of federal excise duty on import customs collected Rs 19.06 million, in term of withholding tax MCC collected Rs 303.82 million.

The performance of MCC for the month of December 2016 was far better as compare to December 2015.
