KARACHI: The Karachi Customs Agents Association (KCAA) has asked container operator KICT to waive demurrage on containers grounded by the PICT within free days.

According to details, KCAA General Secretary Khurram Ijaz has written a letter to PICT Chief Operating Officer Khurram Aziz. The letter refers to the telephonic discussions between Aziz and KCAA Liaison Officer Arshad Khursheed and it also draws Aziz’s attention to his email sent on 1 December by Zeeshan Ibrahim Sabro.

The letter urged Aziz to confirm a number of points agreed in the meeting.

The KCAA also wants PICT to confirm another point which it says was agreed in the meeting. Adequate number of CCTV cameras should be installed at Bay West and to ensure foolproof security.

“Keeping in view the importance of above issues, you are once again requested to please issue necessary order for its compliance,” the letter concluded.
