ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Member (Operations) Dr Mohammad Irshad has directed all the chief commissioners of LTUs/RTOs to devise a strategy to pursue a large number of tax cases pending in the courts.
The issue of pending cases was deeply discussed during the last chief commissioners’ conference, where it was pointed out that the representation of FBR cases at higher judicial forums was weak and not up to the mark.
Lahore RTO Chief Commissioner Tasnim Rehman had suggested that besides formulating a clear-cut strategy at the level of each field formation, the number of advocates must be increased.
The FBR Member (IR-Operations) instructed the chief commissioners at Lahore to nominate the best lawyers to the board for their nomination in this regard.
