Gawadar Customs confiscates 7kg charas, Iranian Diesel

KARACHI: Model Customs Collectorate Gawadar confiscated 7 kilogram fine quality charas worth Rs800, 000 during an operation in Ormara. While in another operation Customs team seized 1500 liter Iranian origin diesel. Four accused were also arrested during these operations.

According to details, Customs Collectorate received a tip-off regarding smuggling of charas in a local transport vehicle which is heading towards Karachi from Ormara. Customs Collectorate immediately constitutes an Anti-Smuggling Organization squad.

The ASO team started searching vehicles on exit points of the city. While searching, the ASO team intercepted a bus of Al-Khalij Bus Service bearing registration no: BA-3472 and recovered 7 kilogram fine quality weed hidden in the bus.

The Customs authorities arrested driver of the bus Sanobar Khan and his companion as well as impounded offending vehicle.

Meanwhile, during another operation, the ASO team confiscated 1500 liter Iranian origin diesel from a Mazda Truck and arrested two accused.

The Customs authorities, after registering separate cases, forwarded both cases to Customs Adjudication department for further proceeding.
