Pakistan committed to regional help under SAARC for economic growth: Sartaj

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), led by Suraj Vaidya, President of the SAARC, called on Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on Monday.

The adviser reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional cooperation under the umbrella of SAARC for acceleration of economic and commercial growth. The adviser recognized the efforts of the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry in promoting economic, trade and investment linkages across the region.

He underscored Pakistan’s support for enhancement of trade and business amongst the countries of the SAARC region. The president of the SAARC appreciated the positive approach Pakistan has been following to strengthen regional cooperation under the SAARC process. He assured the SAARC delegation of further strengthening the SAARC.

Suraj Vaidya, President, SAARC CCI, said the only viable way to uplift the downtrodden strata of the SAARC region is to make joint efforts. The SCCI delegation is visiting Lahore and Islamabad for Pakistani component of its 68th Executive Committee Meeting after having met in Amritsar on 26-27th of January 2017.
