Multan AFU handles 1587 export consignments in first six months of FY 2016-17

MULTAN: The Customs Air Freight Unit (AFU) of Multan has handled 1587 export consignments of worth Rs959.584 million during July to December of the current fiscal year 2016-17.

The Air Freight Unit of Multan Customs is playing active role in handling of export goods from newly established Multan International Airport. Exporters from local industries of South Punjab are taking keen interest for swift clearance of their export goods from Multan International Airport due to extended services.

The swift clearance of export consignments from Multan International Airport is encouraging exporters of the South Punjab for the export goods.

The Customs Collectorate Multan AFU has cleared highest number of export consignments during December with 428 exports GDs of worth Rs133.598 million. Air Freight Unit of Multan Customs has handled only 41 consignments of worth Rs61.676 million in the matching month of fiscal year 2016-17.

Exporters have exported 583 different freights from Multan International Airport of worth Rs.549.64 million throughout the corresponding economic year 2015-16. More than 150 various export consignments of Rs.170 million were cleared in the in the first 20 days of the December. Air Freight Unit has handled various export commodities  including Leather Jackets, Ladies Purses, Bags, Ready-made garments, fruits, fabrics, Shoes and others items from Multan International Airport. These export commodities have been forwarded to other parts of the World from Multan International Airport.

Exporters and business community of the region are utilizing best available services at the Multan International Airport for the speedy clearance of their export consignments and exporters prefer their export clearances from Air Freight Unit of Multan for the quick delivery of their consignments.
