KARACHI: The Custom Preventive impounded three non-duty paid vehicles and registered FIRs against three accused persons.
According to details, the customs preventive received credible information that three different vehicles, including a Mercedes Benz, a Toyota Mark-II and a Toyota Prado, are under use in the city.
The customs preventive staff traced all three vehicles and recovered Mercedes Benz without registration plate from M/s Qadeer Auto Mobile Engineers Workshop in the possession of Saeed Khan and its estimated value is Rs2.97 million. Toyota Mark-II car valuing Rs2.08 million was recovered from Defense Phase-VIII in the possession of Zark Khan, son of Khan Muhammad Khan. Whereas, Toyota Prado valuing Rs2.16 million was recovered from M/s Umer Auto Workshop and it was in the possession of Aurungzeb mechanic.
Detailed verification and scrutiny of the vehicles found that Toyota Mark-II Saloon was registered by the Motor Registration Authority Karachi on the basis of fake, forged and fabricated documents. Therefore the vehicle was impounded and an FIR was registered against the accused accordingly.
Aurungzeb and Saeed Khan, the mechanics, were directed to contact the owners of the other two vehicles and tell them to appear before the authorities with legal documents to provide the lawful import and possession of these vehicles.
