Export Section gets more business than assigned target in Jan

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Export Section of the Air Freight Unit (AFU), BBI Airport Islamabad, earned more exports business with Rs 3.77 million against the assigned target for January 2017.

According to details, Dr. Tahir Iqbal Khattak, Deputy Collector Export AFU, said the performance of the Export Section was as per expectation of the MCC Islamabad. During above said period, the exports of textile garments were on the rise as compared to other items since out of total consignments, above 50% comprised textile fabric and garments.

He said that during January FY16-17, the Export Section, AFU, earned the business valued Rs 1775.81 million against the assigned target of Rs 1708.78 million saying that during the above-said period, the Export Section earned business by exported items like chilled meat, surgical instruments and leather goods.

Tahir Khattak told Customs Today that Pakistani Halal meat is popular in Middle East and Pak leather goods and surgical items are also very popular in the international market, adding the government always provided best facilities to the exporters for promotion of Pakistani products.
