ASO confiscate Rs10m non customs paid vehicles, 3m Turkish cigarettes

LAHORE: Customs anti-smuggling car cell has confiscated five non-customs paid luxury vehicles from various place in the city.

As per detail, the customs car cell under the supervision of Superintendent Mumtaz Ajmal Mian conducted crackdown against the illegally imported vehicles and seized Rs10 million five vehicles.

The superintendent on the instructions of Assistant Collector Asim Awan constituted a team consisting inspectors including Sajjad Bukhari and others.

The team raided and intercepted the vehicles including Nissan Skyland, Mistubishi Pajero, Honda Civic, Honda Rebon, Honda Civic  and other from various place including Ravi Road, Defence, Gulberg, Model Town Garden Town and other places

The customs authorities after registering a case have sent the vehicles for forensic test in laboratory while further investigations are still also under way.

Meanwhile the Customs ASO also confiscated illegally imported 48 cartoon of Turkish Cigarette from Shah Alami Market.

The value of the cigarettes is estimated Rs3 million while the accused slipped away from the place, official sources said.
