LAHORE: The Customs Appellate Tribunal Bench-II, comprising Judicial Member Omer Arshad Hakeem and Technical Member Imran Tariq, heard 10 important cases on Thursday and adjourned all of them until the next hearing.
Customs Appellate Tribunal heard cases including Azmat International versus customs Lahore, Inam Traders versus customs Lahore, Muhammad Jameel versus Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad, Hussain Trading versus customs Faisalabad.
On Thursday, Customs Appellate Tribunal heard cases of Muhammad Asgher versus customs Lahore, Fatima Fertilizers versus Post Clearance Audit (PCA) Lahore, Jumma Khan versus Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Multan.
Furthermore, the tribunal heard the cases of Sitara Textile versus customs Lahore, Fatima Fertilizers versus Post Clearance Audit (PCA) Lahore, Sitart Textile versus customs Lahore and Dildar Jani versus Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Lahore.
In all the cases, counsels for appellants and recipients appeared before the court and submitted arguments. After hearing the arguments from all the parties, the tribunal member reserved the verdict in two cases and all other cases’ hearings were adjourned for next dates.
Customs Appellate Tribunal division bench-II hears cases fixed for hearing in previous dates. The bench–I of Customs Appellate Tribunal is not working nowadays and only one bench is hearing the cases.
Customs Appellate Tribunal heard a case from Monday to Thursday and the last two days Friday and Saturday, tribunal not heard any case of appellant. The tribunals always try to decide case as soon as possible. Customs tribunal will hear the case on Monday because no case was fixed for hearing in next two days of the week.
