Multan Customs collects Rs225.968m in first 15 days of March

MULTAN: The Model of Customs Collectorate Multan Rs225.968 million customs duty (CD) from first fifteen days of of the on-going fiscal year 2016-17.

Sources told Customs Today, the Federal Board of Revenue assigned Rs720 million customs duty revenue collection target to the Multan Customs Collectorate for the duration of March. The Customs Collectorate Multan is fronting with huge collection task and customs duty collection in the first 15 days of March which becomes almost 32 % revenue collection of the allotted mark.

The Model of Customs Collectorate Multan has collected sales tax of Rs777.876 million against the huge amount of consigned task worth Rs3783 million in the first 15 days for March. The reduced collection in the sales taxes of Multan Customs is due to decrease in the clearance of High Speed Diesel Clearances. The collection of sales taxes at the Multan Customs Collectorate is facing continuous decline due to drop in the clearances of HSD products from Multan Dry Port.

Multan Customs has made collection of Rs7.680 million under head of federal excise duty (FED) against the assigned revenue task of Rs25 million under the head of federal excise duty in the first 15 days of March.

The Model of Customs Collectorate Multan collected Rs3.570 million of income tax against the assigned task of Rs19 million for the month of March in the financial year 2016-17.Customs Collectorate also collected Rs4.2 million under the head of  Petroleum Development levy during 15 days of March.

However, Multan Customs is facing hard-hitting collection task for the month of March but Collectorate is confident that they will meet the remaining assigned collection target of March.
