ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate Gilgit-Baltistan exceeded in all duty taxes amongst all the stations of North Region with extra amount of Rs826.16million. The assigned target was Rs1320.80million whereas the collection was 2146.95million during July to February of Financial Year (FY) 2016-17.
According to sources of chief collector office headquarters Islamabad, North Region comprises four customs stations including MCC Islamabad, Peshawar, Samberial and Gilgit-Baltistan. The Customs North Region was assigned the target of Rs23121.80million under the head of all duty taxes whereas the North collected Rs21975.84million against the assigned target while it has the shortfall of Rs1145.96million.
The MCC Islamabad was assigned Rs8414.00million target under the head of collection of all duty and taxes whereas it collected Rs8359.46million against the assigned target during July to February 2016-17. The collectorate of Islamabad lost Rs54.54million against its assigned target for all duty taxes.
The Peshawar Collectorate was assigned the collection target of Rs14044.00million under the head of all duty taxes whereas the collectorate collected Rs12128.33million under the same head. In this way, the collectorate has lost Rs1915.67million during eight months (July to February) FY16-17.
The North Region’s Customs Station Collectorate of Samberial was assigned the Rs757.00million target under the head of collection of all duty taxes whereas it collected Rs658.90million against the assigned target. In this way, the collectorate made 12.96% of difference during eight months of current Financial Year 2016-17.
The North Region has formulated a new plan to meet the target of third quarter of current financial year. To improve the performance, the chief collector north had visited all the four stations to discuss matters with the staff concerned.
