SCCI-SMEDA holds “Small Business Start-up and Management of Women Entrepreneurs” seminar

SIALKOT: Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) organized a day-long awareness raising seminar on “Small Business Start-up and Management of Women Entrepreneurs” in active collaboration with SMEDA here.

A large number of the female entrepreneurs attended the seminar. Coordinator SCCI’s Women Resource Center (WRC) Mehmooda Nadeem Butt and SMEDA officials were also preset on this occasion.

Sialkot based leading exporter Dr. Mariyam Nouman (Chairperson of SCCI’s Committee for Women Entrepreneurs) imparted the knowledge of the participants  about “Small Business Start-up and Management of Women Entrepreneurs” besides having detailed discussions   on Fundamentals of Business Management, Characteristics of Successful Entrepreneurs , Business Management Skills (Entrepreneurial and Managerial Expertise), Marketing and Customer relations Strategies and Accounts and Finance for Small Business.

Later, Dr. Mariyam Nouman told the newsmen that he time was ripe to bring the women in strengthening the national economy as a mission, besides, educating the males to let their women come to the business.

She said that the industry was also facing the international pressure to bring the women in work force besides indulging the women in to the decision making as well.

Dr. Mariyam Nouman told that there was a great talent and potential of doing business in the women, due to which the women should be inducted in the work forces and the change of thought of the society has also become vital.  She said “let the women explore themselves and explore their business talent and potential as well”.

She urged the government and the private sector to provide the women maximum opportunities to grow in every field at every level.  She demanded the capacity building of the women entrepreneurs at Sialkot.

Dr. Mariyam Nouman also urged the government and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) to provide the trade and export related incentives to the women entrepreneurs, especially announcing the trade related incentives for the women entrepreneurs, for participating in the ISPO Germany global trade fare as well.

She said “Pakistan should follow the examples of Turkey, as the Turkey has given several incentives in finance and taxation to its women entrepreneurs, besides, building their capacity of doing business through providing them the proper guidelines for developing their businesses as well”.

She stressed the need of the development of the mutual linkages between the women entrepreneurs and the academia for bringing the maximum women to the business by giving them the necessary training of the industry-related courses as well in Sialkot.

Meanwhile, Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry(SCCI) has announced to celebrate a Traffic Week in Sialkot city for creating awareness about the traffic rules and road safety in active collaboration with the Sialkot traffic police. SCCI has completed all the necessary arrangements, in this regard.

SCCI President Majid Raza Bhutta said that SCCI will observe traffic week from April 03 to 08, 2017 in Sialkot city in active cooperation with the district administration of Sialkot.

He said that the SCCI has taken the Sialkot Municipal Corporation, traffic police, businessmen, all the trade bodies f Sialkot , all the commercial banks, factories , the heads of all the government  and private schools and colleges on board to make this traffic sense awareness-raising campaign in Sialkot city.

All of them would display the awareness-raising banners on all the main and link inter-city roads, Chowks, Bazaars and public places, advising the people to follow the traffic rules to ensure the safety on the roads besides adopting all the preventive measure while driving.
