Hyderabad customs confiscates 38,000 auto parts worth Rs760000

HYDERABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized foreign origin 38,000 auto parts including motorcycle break leathers valued Rs760000 involving duty/taxes of Rs249727 during a raid on Waqar Karim Goods Company, Hala Naka, Hyderabad. The smuggled items were being transported from Lahore to Karachi.

The intelligence officials, including Deputy Superintendent Qasim Ali Alvi, received some report that the said auto parts were being transported to Karachi from Lahore. The officials conducted a raid and confiscated the items.

The official asked the driver to show documents regarding the legal import and lawful possession of the recovered items but he could not produce the same. So the official confiscated the items. Now the case will be sent to customs adjudication after making a seizure report. The smuggled items will be deposited into the state warehouse in Hyderabad.

The customs intelligence team comprised Inspector Irfan Ghani, Sepoys Musrat Ali Shah, Moin Khan, Sikander Malah, Noshad Khan, Azam Ali Chandio, Muhammad Imran, Janib Krub, Haneef Somroo and others.
