Millions of rupees non customs paid cigarettes impounded

LAHORE: Under the directions and supervision of the Director Ch. Muhammad Tarique, the Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Inland Revenue FBR, Lahore conducted a raid on non-duty paid and counterfeit foreign brand cigarettes at Tobacco Market Talab Mela Ram, Railway Station, Lahore wherein 600 plus cartons have been seized comprising more than six million sticks. Counting of lose packets and cigarette packets in sacs is going on and the quantity of cartons/sticks may increase after counting is finalized.

This raid is second largest after a raid at Pan Mandi Lahore wherein more than 1125 cartons / 11.25 million sticks of non duty paid / counterfeit cigarettes were seized by Lahore Directorate. Under the supervision of Additional Director Dr. Javed Iqbal, Amir Abbas Khan, Ijlal Khan and Saad Waqas, Ehsan Shah participated in the operation.
