Gwadar Customs seizes huge quantity of smuggled Iranian diesel worth Rs 17.2m

KARACHI: Customs Collectorate Gwadar has seized a huge quantity of smuggled Iranian origin High Speed Diesel from different areas during the last three weeks.

According to the details, on the directives of the Collector of Customs Model Customs Collectorate Gwadar Feroze Alam Junejo actions against smuggling of Iranian diesel have been further stepped up by the officers.

During a grand operation launched in the Panjgur, Turbat, Mand and Hub areas, the officers of the Model Customs Collectorate Gwadar successfully seized a huge quantity of smuggled High Speed Diesel.

Sources informed Customs Today that during the grand operation the personnel of Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan also participated in the raids against smugglers.

The officers of the Model Customs Collectorate Gwadar during last three weeks have recovered seized 288,000 Liters of smuggled High Speed Diesel (HSD) of worth Rs.17.2 million. The operation is still underway and expected to yield better results by eventually curbing the unscrupulous elements involved in the illicit business of smuggling.

The cases have been filed against the culprits and further investigation is underway. The officials of the Model Customs Collectorate Gwadar are also conducting raids on the information of the arrested culprits to apprehend the master minds involved in the heinous crime.
