Collector Adjudication Mubashir Baig hears 5 cases

FAISALABAD: The Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Collector Mirza Mubashir Baig has heard five different cases against suspects involved in smuggling of medicine, Indian origin cloth, duty free input material dyes imported case, and different vehicles cases.

Sources told to Customs Today that M/s AM Knitwear was charged for smuggling foreign origin duty free input material dyes worth Rs343,1008, Qasim Khan was allegedly involved in duty and taxes evasion of Rs8073632 brought illegally medicine in country, Muhammad Jameel was smuggled Indian origin cloth into the country without paying Rs12164570 of customs duty. Abdul Manan was found involved in smuggling of foreign origin vehicle bearing registration No: LEI-16-640 loaded with cloth worth Rs15497076.

Meanwhile, Mirza Mubashir Baig heard case of Malik Safwan involved in evading tax worth Rs12919222 as the accused has brought Indian cloth along with vehicle No: LWN-4005 into the country without paying customs duty.

Sources told that these cases will be fixed for regular hearing, prosecution evidences and conformation of bail applications. The Adjudication office has prepared the show cause list and issued intimation notices to the parties.

During the hearing, counsel for the defence and department made requested for preparation, therefore, the collector Adjudication postponed the hearing after giving next date of hearing.
