Show cause notice issued to Ismail Power House after seizure of contraband LED TVs

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Collector Customs Adjudication Islamabad Dr. Wajid Ali has issued a show cause notice in the seizure case of foreign origin LED TVs to the Ismail S/o Khan Zada a r/o Dargai Malakand Power House and directed him to present before the court on Monday, 24th of April 2017, and submitted a reply of the notice.

The deputy collector preventive division model customs collectorate received a tip-off that an attempt would be made to smuggle foreign origin Samsung and Sony LED TVs from Peshawar by a bus bearing Registration No. LZJ-6882. A raiding party was constituted comprising Anti-smuggling staff.

On the demand of the legal documents from owner of the goods, Ismail Khan Zada, he failed to prove the goods legal. The Anti-Smuggling Organization confiscated the contraband item which was brought into the country in violation of Section 2 (s) and 16 of the Customs Act-1969 after a proper documentation.
