ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to establish a complaint cell to resolve the issues of taxpayers against tax officials.
This was revealed during the FBR’s Board-in-Council meeting, which was convened to discuss operational strategy of Integrity and Performance Unit (IPMU) of the Board. The Board-in-Council also approved in principle establishment of council of complaints during the meeting.
The cell would investigate complaints of taxpayers against the FBR officials in matters pertaining to corruption, inefficiency and maladministration.
The FBR’s Council of Complaints will be headed by senior FBR officials including Member (IR-Ops), Member (Customs) and Member (Administration) with the task to scrutinise the serious complaints filed against the officers/officials of FBR.
