Sargodha ASO seizes non duty paid diesel generator, tractor trolley

SARGODHA: The Anti Smuggling Organization of Sargodha seized foreign origin diesel generator worth Rs5,19,7500 involving customs duty and taxes Rs1344281. The ASO team also impounded tractor trolley worth Rs4,00,000 being used for smuggling.

According to details, Collector Muhammad Sadiq received information about the said smuggled generator. The customs authorities established a check post under the supervision of Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan. The team intercepted a tractor trolley bearing registration number: SGE-3209 under section of Customs Act 1969 near Alaf Chowk Faisalabad Road Sargodha loaded with foreign origin generator (450- KVA) made in USA.

When the ASO team asked the driver of the vehicle Arshad Mehmood son of Muhammad Yaqoob to produce legal documents of the generator, he failed to produce any legal documents regarding legal import of generator.  So the ASO team seized the generator and vehicle on the spot.

The Anti Smuggling Organization Sargodha superintendent also registered a case against the accused and forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication for further proceedings.
