MULTAN: The Customs Collectorate has generated Rs128.5 million from the auctions of confiscated vehicles and miscellaneous goods through different auctions in the on-going fiscal year 2016-17.
According to details, Multan Customs is generating handsome revenue through disposal of confiscated vehicles and various items through monthly auction held in Customs House Multan.
The Customs Collectorate has conducted seven various auctions of confiscated vehicles and miscellaneous goods from July to April of the current fiscal year 2016-17. Multan Customs have witnessed increase in the number of vehicles sold during auction and it helps customs to boost revenue collection of the Collectorate.
Almost 27 various confiscates vehicles were sold out along other seized goods during auction of Multan Customs in seven various. The Customs Collectorate has generated Rs36.7 million from the seven various auctions in the corresponding period of the economic year 2015-17. All these auctioned vehicles and goods were seized by the Anti-Smuggling Organization in their various anti-smuggling actions in the jurisdiction.
The Customs Collectorate has taken few steps by initiating marketing of the confiscated goods and vehicles for the generation of additional revenue through auction.
Anti-Smuggling Organization is carrying out intensive anti-smuggling operations to curb smuggling in the region through their different actions and anti-smuggling squad has seized huge quantities of smuggled vehicles and goods in their action.
These seized goods presented in the auction for the generation of revenue which support Multan Customs Collectorate to meet their assigned annual revenue collection target.
These seized items and vehicles were presented for auction every month for the disposal after the conclusion of their legal trial in the Customs Adjudication.
