Dr Muhammad Irshad told the officers and staff of FBR that he has set up FBR Foundation with the express goal of ensuring the welfare and provision of quality education, healthcare and housing facilities for the FBR workforce and he would do all in his capacity as FBR chairman to resolve their outstanding issues regarding promotions, upgradation and capacity building.

The chairman said he is committed to solving the job-related problems and issues of the FBR staff so that they could focus single-mindedly on the revenue generation efforts and contribute to resource mobilisation required to drive the socioeconomic agenda of the democratic government. He said the purpose of setting up FBR Foundation was to provide a platform to the serving and retired officers and employees of the FBR to leverage their efforts and resources for the collective welfare of the FBR community. He said the FBR Foundation would provide homes instead of plots to the employees and the cost would be recovered through easy instalments.

Similarly, he said land for the construction of FBR Tower in Islamabad had also been acquired which marked a step further for the welfare of FBR employees. He also announced construction of a beautiful mosque in the compound of FBR House for the staff and employees.

The office-bearers of the FBR Headquarters Employees Welfare Association, speaking on the occasion, thanked the FBR chairman for his efforts and keen interest in expediting their long delayed promotions and resolving other similar issues faced by the staff. They presented flowers and a mural to the chairman as tokens of thanksgiving.
