ISLAMABAD: Anti Narcotics Force (ANF), during its 34 operations across the country against narcotics smuggling, has recovered 531 kg drugs.
The recovered drugs comprised 509.1 kg hashish, 14 kg heroin and 7.1 kg amphetamine. During operations, ANF also apprehended 42 persons involved in narcotics smuggling and seized 13 vehicles. According to details here on Wednesday, ANF Quetta raided a desolate site at Buleda Road, Turbat and recovered 260 kg of hashish, being smuggled to some unidentified destination. Additionally, ANF Quetta carried out on intelligence based operation at Gen Area Sargarisha, Chagai, 74 kg hashish stored in plastic bags was seized.
Preliminary reports revealed that these drugs were stocked, to be handed over to another narco gang. Furthermore, an operation conducted at Darbar Marriage Hall, Quetta, recovered 1.360 kg of amphetamine from possession of two accused persons identified as Abdul Karim, resident of Quetta and Noor Agha, resident of Qilla Abdullah.
ANF Rawalpindi recovered 3.8 kg hashish from possession of a drug carrier namely Malik Khalil Shahid, resident of Sialkot, arrested him near Shaheen Cargo Airport Road, Rawalpindi. In another operation ANF Rawalpindi recovered 250 gram heroin from possession of a drug carrier namely Muhammad Khurshid, resident of Chakwal. He was arrested near Balkasar Bus Stop, Talagang, Chakwal.
In third operation ANF Rawalpindi arrested a local drug suppliers named Muhammad Zaib, resident of Swabi, recovering 1.5 kg amphetamine from him at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad, traveling to Qatar by Qatar Airways flight No QR-633. The drug was concealed in a brief case.
In fourth operation ANF Rawalpindi arrested Gul Zamin Afghan National at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad on suspicion of ingestion of narco filled capsules, admitted in hospital, Rawalpindi for delivery of capsules. Around 72 heroin filled capsules weighing 576 gram were recovered. He was travelling to Italy via Doha by flight No QR-633.
In fifth operation ANF Rawalpindi recovered 1.6 kg heroin from possession of the accused identified as Sagheer, resident of Sialkot near Sawan Bus Terminal Stop, Rawalpindi. In sixth operation ANF Rawalpindi recovered 400 gram hashish from possession of the accused identified as Muhammad Imran, resident of Rawalpindi, near Punjab Bakers Sadiqabad Chowk, Rawalpindi.
In seventh operation ANF Rawalpindi intercepted Suzuki car near Ghazi Interchange, Tarbela Road, Attock and recovered 6 kg hashish. Two persons on-board identified as Rehmat Khan, resident of Khyber Agency and Noor Ud Deen, resident of Peshawar were also arrested on the spot.
In eighth operation ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Toyota Corolla car near Pakistan chowk, Hattian Bus Stop, GT Road Attock and recovered 4 kg hashish. A person on-board was arrested on the spot. In ninth operation ANF Rawalpindi recovered 1.010 kg hashish from possession of the accused namely Mehboob Ur Rehman, resident of Kohistan near Supreme Appellate Court Jutial Gilgit. In tenth operation ANF Rawalpindi recovered 1.7 kg hashish from possession of the accused namely Uzar, resident of Gilgit, near Baseen to Sakarkol Bridge, Gilgit.
ANF Lahore recovered 250 gram heroin from possession of a person identified as Jahangir Sheikh, resident of Sialkot, arresting him near Government College University for Women, Sialkot. In another operation ANF Lahore recovered 400 gram heroin from possession of the accused namely Zulfiqar Ahmed, resident of Sialkot, arresting him near China chowk, Sialkot. In third operation ANF Lahore, arresting one international drug supplier named Muhammad Nazir, resident of Gujrat, at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, travelling to Madina Munwara Saudi Arabia by flight No E-623 and recovered 1.650 kg amphetamine concealed in his bag.
In fourth operation ANF Lahore arrested four accused namely Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Yaqub, Ali Hassan and Munwar Ali, residents of Lahore. The drug recovered was 4 kg heroin from their possession near Mandi Yazman, Bahawalpur. In fifth operation ANF Lahore arrested accused namely Muhammad Shafi at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, who was travelling to Jeddah via Doha by flight No QR-621 and recovered 1.450 kg amphetamine concealed in his bag. In sixth operation ANF Lahore recovered 285 gram heroin from a parcel being sent to Netherlands through Fedex Office near Ganga Ram Hospital, Lahore, heroin was concealed in Ladies Jeans Pant. In seventh operation ANF Lahore intercepted Mazda near Al Sadat Hotel & Restaurant Gojra Town, Sargodha Gujrat Road Mandi Bahauddin and recovered 21.6 kg hashish. Two persons on-board identified as Meer Abdullah and Muhammad Ansar both resident of Sargodha were arrested on the spot.
ANF Peshawar stopped a suspected Suzuki Mehran car near Motorway Toll Plaza Peshawar and recovered 8.4 kg hashish which was concealed under the rear seats of the car.
In another operation ANF Peshawar in collaboration with ASF arrested accused namely Masood Khan, resident of Khurram Agency, at Peshawar International Airport while travelling to Jeddah by flight No NL-721 and recovered 1.960 kg heroin which was concealed in a luggage bag.
In third operation ANF Peshawar intercepted a car near Zakori Sharif Bridge, GT Road, Peshawar and recovered 15.6 kg hashish, concealed in trunk of car. A person namely Khan Zeb, resident of Charsadda was arrested on spot.
In forth operation ANF Peshawar intercepted a Toyota Hiace near Marry Police Check Post, Terah Road, Kohat and recovered one (1) kg Hashish.
In fifth operation ANF Peshawar recovered 2.4 kg hashish from possession of accused who was travelling in a Hiace near Jail stop, Bannu Road, Kohat. Accused identified as Gul Pur Rehman, resident of Khyber Agency, was arrested on the spot.
In sixth operation ANF Peshawar intercepted Suzuki Mehran and a motorcycle near Sports Complex, Hayatabad, Peshawar and recovered 17.150 kg hashish concealed in secret cavities of the car. Five persons identified as Zaheer Ahmed and Shakeel Khan, resident of Khyber Agency, Mohabbat Khan, resident of Peshawar, Muhammad Kashif, resident of Charsadda and Muhammad Zulfiqar, resident of Abbotabad were arrested on the spot.
In seventh operation ANF Peshawar intercepted Rikshaw near Tamab Farm, GT Road, Peshawar and recovered 2 kg Heroin from possession of accused namely Asmat Ullah, resident of Mohmand Agency.
In eight operation ANF Peshawar intercepted Toyota XLI car near CBRC Canal, Peshawar and recovered 32 kg Hashish which was concealed under CNG cylinder of the car. Two persons on-board identified as Abdul Rehman, resident of Quetta and Atta Ullah, resident of Khyber Agency were arrested on the spot. In ninth operation ANF Peshawar arrested Imran Ullah Afridi and Zahoor Ahmed both resident of Peshawar, recovering 16.8 kg Hashish from their possession. They were arrested while riding on a motorcycle near Hayatabad Sports Complex, Peshawar. In tenth operation ANF Peshawar recovered 500 gram heroin from possession of the accused namely Muhammad Jamal, resident of Sargodha while he was travelling in Coaster near New Toll Plaza, Kohat.
In eleventh operation ANF Peshawar intercepted Suzuki Mehran car near Pakhal CNG Shinkiari Road, Mansehra and recovered 4 kg hashish from possession of three accused persons namely Muhammad Kashif, resident of Peshawar, Usman, resident of Khyber Agency and Shaid Mehmood, resident of Mansehra.
ANF Karachi recovered 2.5 kg hashish from possession of accused namely Bashir Ahmed, resident of Badin. He was arrested near Total Petrol Pump, Fateh Chowk, Hyderabad. In another operation ANF Karachi recovered 1.6 kg hashish from possession of local drug peddler identified as Faisal Ahmed, resident of Karachi. He was arrested near Walyani General Bus Stand, Sohrab Goth, Karachi.
In third operation ANF Karachi intercepted Toyota Corolla car near Steel Mill Hospital, National Highway, Karachi and recovered 43 kg hashish. Two accused persons on-board identified as Shahzada Akbar Shahzad, resident of Karachi and Sahib Khan, resident of Peshawar were arrested on the spot. Cases have been registered at respective ANF police stations and further investigations are underway.
