Adjudication ADC orders release of generator & vehicle to owner

FAISALABAD: Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Muhammad Saeed Asad ordered the release of a generator and a carrier vehicle to its lawful owner.

Muhammad Saeed Asad has issued Order-in-Original (ONO) while hearing a case against Rafaqat Khan S/o of Muhammad Ashraf.

3,000 Iran-bound containers stranded at Karachi port as Hormuz tensions disrupt shipping

Deputy Collector (DC) ASO Sargodha received a tip-off regarding the smuggling of used diesel generator 455-KVA caterpillar company modelled 2006 loaded on carrier vehicle Nissan truck No: LEI-15A-669. The team confiscated the generator near Jhal Chakian, Khushab Road, Sargodha.

The officials asked the driver to show the documents regarding the legal import of the items, but he failed to produce the same. The officials seized the items under Section 17 of the Custom Act-1969 read with Section 2(s) and sent the case to the adjudication.

Mian Javeed Nasir appeared from the party side in the court and stated that the seized diesel generator has been legally imported in the country vide GD CRN-HC-69481 by Allied Engineering and Service Limited Karachi invoice No: 36GE, BSQLHL, dated 1-04-2006 and cleared from MCC Karachi.

The produced documents were handed over to the prosecution for verification. The customs representative said the seized generator was lawfully imported. After hearing arguments, adjudication authority Muhammad Saeed Asad issued the order for unconditional release of the seized generator with the carrier vehicle to its lawful owner and also issued Order-in-Original (ONO) No: 17/2017.
