Faisalabad ASO seizes huge quantity of non duty paid items in 3rd week of May

FAISALABAD: The Anti Smuggling Organization conducted various operations against smugglers on the special instructions of Collector Muhammad Sadiq and recovered smuggled goods worth Rs3,114,560 during third week of May.

Sources told Customs Today, that Deputy Collector Usman Traiq constituted a team to curb smuggling attempts in the region. The ASO team comprises Superintendent Chaudhary Muhammad Sardar Masood Saeed Chohan, Safdar Ali, Muhammad Tanveer (inspectors), Muhammad Ashraf, Liaquat Ali, Israr Ahmad and Muhammad Abdullah (sepoys) seized non duty paid and tempered vehicles worth Rs7,00,000 under section ( U/S-16 NDP ). These vehicles were brought into the country without payment of custom duty and taxes.

Sources said that Anti Smuggling Organization also impounded foreign origin tyres tubes worth Rs4,00,000 which were being smuggling to Faisalabad.

Faisalabad ASO seized items and vehicles under section of Import and Export Control Act. 1950 punishable under Section 156(1)89(i) 90 of the Customs Act 1969 and forwarded the cases to Customs Adjudication Faisalabad for legal action and proceedings.
