KSE-100 Index consolidates previous day’s gains

KARACHI: Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) Tuesday consolidated previous day’s gains, as benchmark KSE-100 Index increased by 23.70 points and closed at 50,144.63 points.

The KSE-100 Index during the day went up to 50,313.40 points and dropped to 49,919.40 points before it settled at 50,144.63 at the close of the trading.

After sluggish trend last week, the KSE-100 Index on Monday had recovered by 1,565.63 points and closed at 50,120.93 points.  The shares of total 365 companies were traded in which the share value of 149 companies increased and that of 197 companies decreased, while the share value of 19 companies remained unchanged.  The turnover of shares stood at 231 million with trading value of Rs 13.543 billion.

The highest increase was recorded in the share value of Wyeth Pak LtdXD and Hinopak Motor which increased by Rs. 83.20 and Rs. 77.37 and closed at Rs. 2,316.70 and Rs. 1,629.37 respectively.

While the highest decrease was witnessed in the share value of Island Textile and Pak Tobacco which fell by Rs. 44.71 and Rs. 29.17 and closed at Rs. 850.94 and Rs. 1,543.33 respectively.
