Multan Customs Intelligence seizes foreign origin generator of M/s Enpower Engineering

MULTAN: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range Office has seized foreign origin generator of M/s Enpower Engineering during an operation.

According to details, Customs Intelligence and Investigation received credible information from their source that foreign origin goods will be transported through Sadiqabad route. Deputy Director Customs Intelligence Multan Range Office Abdul Mueed Kanjoo formed special team led by Superintendent Fareed Ud Din Masood, Inspector Zafar, Inspector Umer, Zulfiqar and others. Customs Intelligence staff enhanced the patrolling of the Sadiqabad region by alerting them to intercept coming goods.

During examination Customs Field Intelligence Unit (FIU) of Sadiqabad has intercepted the Mazda truck bearing registration number of TKP-580 Quetta on suspect of smuggling. The said Mazda was loaded with foreign origin generator of Max Power technology with 40 kilowatt power.

Customs Intelligence teams asked the driver of the Mazda to produce the import documents regarding the loaded foreign origin power generator. Driver presented the import GDs to Customs Intelligence team of the said foreign origin generator. The presented import documents to Customs Intelligence revealed that said foreign origin generator was in the possession of M/s Enpower Engineering Company Lahore.

Customs Intelligence teams examined the documents and send for the verification by taking foreign origin generator into their custody on suspect of smuggling. Customs Intelligence teams decided to seize the foreign origin generator after completion of verification. The seized generator was non-duty paid and it was coming from Quetta to Lahore.

The value of the seized generator was almost Rs.1 million and levied duty taxes of Rs600,000. The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range Office also seized the Mazda truck of worth Rs.8 million in their action under Customs Act 1969.
