Additional collectors authorized to permit re-export of frustrated cargo

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has allowed additional collector to permit re-export of frustrated cargo under customs supervision without payment of duties and taxes.

The FBR amended rule 88 and 89 in Customs Rules, 2001 through SRO 564(I)/2017 regarding authorization of frustrated cargo. Prior to the changes in the rules the collector of customs was authorized to permit re-export of frustrated cargo.

According to amendments on receipt of an application, the additional collector of customs shall satisfy himself with reference to the relevant import manifests and other documents that the goods are ‘frustrated cargo‘ as provided in section 138 of the Customs Act 1969.

If the additional collector is so satisfied, he would permit re-export of the frustrated cargo under Customs supervision without payment of duties (whether of import or export) chargeable thereon.
