FBR issues arrest warrant for owner of Dawn Impex in Rs26m tax evasion

LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue has issued an arrest warrant for the owner of the Dawn Impex in a huge tax evasion of Rs26million.

According to sources of Customs Today, owner of Dawn Impex was involved in tax evasion. Dawn Impex has been defaulter from the Fiscal Years 2013 to 2016. The FBR has issued the arrest warrant for Mian Muhammad Akram, owner of Dawn Impex. Mian Muhammad Akram is defaulter of Sales Tax.

Muhammad Akram and his company were involved in hiding the sales and import record. They also misbehaved with the staff of the FBR.

Now the FBR has given a time of seven days to Dawn Impex to appear before the FBR team. The FBR has also said that in case of failure of the Dawn Impex, the FBR will take necessary steps to get sales tax from the company.

The company is an importer of different items from many countries but it was involved in alleged tax evasion that has been detected by the FBR intelligence.

The FBR has also declared Dawn Impex as black-listed and a special team has framed some charges against it in this regard. Sources said the FBR had issued many notices to Dawn Impex but it did not respond to them.
