The intelligence officials, including Deputy Director Waqar Haroon Malik, received a tip-off that some foreign origin non-duty-paid 28 bundles of imported mixed cloths (Gents) are being transported to Lahore from Karachi. The officials conducted a raid and impounded the cloths.

The intelligence team, comprising Superintendent Qasim Ali Alvi, Intelligence Officer Irfan Ghani, Sepoys Noshad Khan, Azam Ali Chandio, Muhammad Imran, Gayas Ahmad, Aslam Chuhan, Rao Abdul Sattar and Drivers Hanif Somroo and Janib Corb, set up a checkpost at the exit point of the city. The officials intercepted the vehicle near Hatri Bypass Hyderabad for checking which led to the recovery of foreign origin 28 bundles of imported mixed cloths (Gents).

The driver was asked to show the legal documents of the goods but he failed to prove the genuineness, so the customs officials seized the said items under the customs bylaws.

Officials said that a case will be sent to the Customs Adjudication after making a seizure report for further legal action.
