PESHAWAR: Custom officials deputed at Bacha Khan International Airport seized six kilogram gold and arrested Dubai bound passenger on Friday during routine checking.
Sources told that the passenger was coming Dubai and was hailing from Urmaea area of Peshawar. The gold was concealed in shoes which were packed in other luggage’s.
The gold was valued of Rs28 million Pakistani rupees and was aimed to sell it in high price in Peshawar. The customs officials arrested the persons and confiscated the smuggled gold from his possession.
Earlier to this customs officials recovered eight kilograms of gold from Bacha Khan international Airport. The official had arrested one of the smugglers at that time.
It is necessary to mention here that Collector Qurban Ali Khan directed customs teams deputed at Bacha Khan International Airport to adopt zero tolerance policy towards smuggling.
