BBIA AB Dept goes surplus with Rs01.03m collection target during June FY16-17

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Staff of the Accompanied Baggage (AB) at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIA) Islamabad collected surplus revenue of Rs1.03million against the assigned target for June Financial Year (FY) 2016-17.

The Customs staff at the BBIA earned a surplus amount of Rs0.37million from the unaccompanied Baggage (UAB) during above said period.
According to details explained by Sadia Khattak, Assistant Collector Islamabad Airport, that the Collectorate of Islamabad assigned Rs2.00million revenue collection target to the AB for June FY16-17 while it earned Rs3.03million against the allocated target. The collectorate set Rs0.20million of revenue collection target to UAB for the month of June FY16-17 whereas it generated Rs0.7million against the allocated target.
She told Customs Today that customs staff at the Islamabad Airport has started patrolling all the areas of the Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad 24/7 hours whereas the Collector Model Customs Collectorate Islamabad has ordered the enhancement of the quantity and quality of rummaging squad along with the sniffer dogs to hunt the traffickers in the aeroplanes before their departures.
She remarked that the AB and UAB Departments of the MCC Islamabad showed better performance during June FY16-17 while airport staff will continue its efforts with more devotion during Financial Year 2017-18.
