The court also fined Rs200000 if they fail to pay the fine amount, or shall suffer further imprisonment for two months at the Central Jail Karachi.

According to the prosecution, on May 30, 2017, MCC Appraisement East Karachi reported a matter that M/s Esso Co International Karachi imported four consignments consisting of Grey Fabric from UAE and filed goods declaration on their own user ID for clearance. On pursuant of documents, it was found that containers were actually imported by M/s Uzair Enterprises which were released on payment of leviable duties and taxes.

As per FIR, all the accused, in connivance with each others, replaced the jumbo plastic bins in containers instead of actual goods and caused the government exchequer a loss of Rs6.32million.

A case was registered for violation of section 2 (s) 16, 32, (1) 32 (1) 32 (2) A, 79 and 192 of the Customs Act-1969 read with SRO 566(1)/85 dated 06/06/2005 section 33 of Sales Tax Act-1990 section 148 of the Income Tax Ordinance.
